Daymer Bay is situated at the estuary mouth of the Camel River, opposite Padstow. It is a 5min drive from Polzeth. Daymer can provide a full range of conditions from flat water sailing at LW to fantastic down the line wave sailing, created when the north coast of Cornwall is hit by a big westerly swell which corresponds with a South to Westerly wind. Often it is one of the few coastal locations a intermediate sailor can feasibly access the water in 4.0m conditions while the rest of the SW coast line is experiencing big swell. It is a very popular spot with over 40 sailors out on a good day.

South - South West or a North Westerly provide the cleanest wind directions. Wind against tide in a NW creates good port jumping and backside riding conditions. A S/SW wind with a swell will provide good wave riding at mid tide on the west side of the bay.
Rigging area and launch access
You can either carry your kit down on to the beach and rig on the sand or you can rig on the grass in the Car Park area. There is a small track to the south of the car park, which you can use to carry your rigged kit on to the beach.
The car park has toilets, which are open all year round, there is a café and shop which is open during the summer. There are a couple of Pubs in either Polzeth or in near by Rock. Polzeth has two family campsites and plenty of holiday cottages can be found to rent in the area.
Access and car parking
Aim for Wadebridge and then follow signs for Polzeth / Rock. Follow the signs to Rock and then look out for a right hand turn signposted Daymer. The final road, which leads to the Beach Carpark is single track with passing places. The car park at Daymer is now year round pay and display £1.20 an hour or £5.40 for the day. It does not allow overnight stays, with the gate being close after sunset.
